1 month old already!

This has been a very exciting week. Noah got to have his first bath in his big boy tub! He looked a little confused at first but seemed to enjoy it, no crying. He is making some new sounds. An almost laugh in his sleep and some squealing when we are just baby talking with him. He is focusing more on objects and on your face while you are talking to him. Noah is also enjoying his tummy time. He can lift his head and turn it from side to side. Last night after I bathed him I put him down on his tummy on his play mat. When I came back a few minutes later he was on his back! How he managed that one I have no idea. I put him back on his belly hoping he would do it again but he didn't. The last few nights he has slept an hour longer till his middle of the night bottle. I'm just so thrilled! We may just be getting close to him sleeping through the night!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Noah's 3rd week home!
Everyone had to get back to work this past week so my son and I got to spend a lot of time really getting to know one another. We sure miss daddy though and really look forward to when he comes home from work. Gabe bathed him this weekend for his first time and did it like a pro. He is still enjoying his bath time and we will probably actually put him in water this coming week as his boo boo's are healing nicely. Noah loves to lay on my chest and have is back rubbed. He will just lay there all content just looking up at me with his wide eyes while I talk to him. I do think his eye site is getting better as he follows objects a little and tries to move his head in the direction of my voice. He also seems to see the bright colored pictures on the walls and looks up at his mobile in his crib. He is getting more vocal, letting me know when he is hungry or just plain had enough of something. Let me tell you, it is hard not to pick him up though every time he cries. I am doing me best to not spoil him too much but it is such a wonderful feeling when you can just touch him and he calms down. He knows who his mama is! Our love to all and keep checking back!

Noah's 2nd week home!

Noah is still just a jem! It is so hard to believe he is 2 weeks old already. Our little man is growing up too fast. We went for our first walk around our neighborhood this week, of course he slept through it but we sure enjoyed it. Noah still loves his bath time. I have learned to leave his diaper on till I get to his lower half. Well, last night when I took his diaper off...the little pooper squirted all over the counter, Gabe's coffee pot and our mug tower. I quickly covered him up but he is a straight shooter. Mom needs to be a little quicker I guess. He likes to lay on his tummy while on my chest. He is learning to hold his head up, only for a few seconds at a time but it's a start. He looks up at me with his big wide eyes and it just melts my heart. Mommyhood so far is more then I ever thought it could be. We are so blessed!

Noah's first week at home!

Hard to believe that our little guy is a week old already. He has been such a blessing. Noah is eating 3oz just about every 4 hours which leads to only one middle of the night feeding. Mom just loves that. He so far loves anything and everything. His swing, rocker and of course being held and talked to. He talks back too! He only really fusses when he gets his diaper changed and a little during bath time. He is very active with kicks and punches just like when I was pregnant and the hicups he still gets a few times a day. He is not much of a swaddler except for at bedtime. So far he is just perfect but then again he is my son so of course I would say that! Enjoy the photos and keep checking back for more!

IT'S A BOY!

Noah Gabriel Wittenberg was born on Tuesday 2/26/2008 at 10.03am. He weighed in at 7lbs. and was just about 19inches long. What a ride we had. Monday around 1pm I thought my water had broke. I called into the hospital to explain what had happened and get their advice. They wanted me to come in to get checked out so Gabe was called home from work and we headed to Kaiser South Sacramento. We arrived around 4pm where I was sent to an exam room. My water "HAD" broken and I was dilated at 3! No active labor though???? They recommended inducing to get things moving along so after getting all checked in that is just what we did starting at about 5pm. By midnight I was dilated to 5 and feeling good, no pain. I really could not feel anything. That soon all changed. Bring on the epidural! What a wonderful thing those are. Everything was going just ducky until the epidural machine ran out of batteries! Hello PAIN! I was about to jump off that bed and hurt someone if they didn't get it fixed and fix it now! That all happened around 6ish if I remember. Finally all was fixed and I was again pain free. I was then dilated to 8 and things where really speeding up. I just could not believe that I was going to meet this life that has been growing inside of me for what seems forever. I was so ready...can I push yet? So when time did come when I was dilated at 10 and should be able to push I just didn't have that urge to so they wanted to wait until I did...which meant turning off the epidural that I had so loved all night. Whatever they suggest is the best I guess so I agreed. It didn't take long, maybe a half hour or so. I think I pushed for about an hour and a half and there he was. The most beautiful baby I had ever seen and he was my boy. Noah Gabriel! He has stollen my heart and the hearts of many other as well. Baby, mommy and daddy are all doing great and just so in love.

Our first family photo. Sorry for the crazy "I just gave birth hair".
